On September 19, 2019, at the invitation of Jiangxi Provincial Financial Regulatory Bureau, NIFA held another “Internet Finance Knowledge into the Campus” lecture in Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and disseminated financial knowledge to the 2019 freshmen in the province via the “Jiangxi Education Cloud” platform. The lectures aim to improve college students’ awareness and ability to refrain from illegal “campus loans”, and establish a rational consumption habit. Officials from Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, Jiangxi Provincial Financial Regulatory Bureau, Jiangxi Provincial Public Security Department, Jiangxi Provincial Procuratorate, and Jiangxi Provincial Banking and Insurance Regulatory Bureau were present.
NIFA General Counsel, Chairman of the Financial Consumer Protection and Training Committee Chu Bende; NIFA Chief Officer of Public Affairs, Deputy Chairwoman of the Financial Consumer Protection and Training Committee Li Qian; expert from Nanchang Crime Crackdown Office on Combating “Campus Loan” Hu Qifeng; Senior Procurator of the Jiangxi Provincial Procuratorate Huang Wenzhong joint hands to give a lecture. They combined theoretical explanation with case analysis, and talked about AML regulatory policies and the money laundering trap, the identification and prevention of “campus loan”, “cash loan” and “trap loan”, prevention of personal information leakage and establishing a right consumption habit, as well as using legal means to safeguard consumer rights. More than 300 teachers and students listened to the lecture at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, while around 15,000 students from other colleges and universities in the province watched online simultaneously through the“Jiangxi Education Cloud” platform.
Moreover, NIFA gave out internet finance consumer education brochures with vivid and humorous comics to help college students better understand risks and stay away from scams.
Up to now, NIFA has held 13 “Internet Finance Knowledge into the Campus” lectures in Tianjin, Wuhan, Changchun, Beijing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Hefei, Nanchang among other cities. NIFA will continue to adhere to the principle of “classification and grading, teaching on demand, problem-oriented, and result-focused” to strengthen the popularization of financial knowledge for college students.
